 STOLLEN is a modern portrait of the Erzgebirge, a mountainous region in eastern Germany, forever shaped by centuries of mining.

The documentary accompanies a group of locals during their preparations for Christmas,

30 years since the closing of the last uranium mines,

as they negotiate the character of their identity in between tradition and economic needs.
